Celebrating Milestones
We’re celebrating a couple of milestones at home this week, including the end of another school year and a kindergarten graduation for my youngest child.
Left to our own devices, my family would have marked the occasion with a special meal or a trip to our favourite ice cream spot.
But luckily for us, a couple of parents in the school community offered to host a party for the entire kindergarten class (complete with graduation caps and a special cake). With everyone pitching in, the celebration quickly morphed into an epic (and memorable!) party.
What Are Your Personal Celebrations?
In business, just like in kindergarten, how we celebrate our wins has a huge impact in how they are perceived and remembered. Even a small effort can reinforce a positive company culture, acknowledge key contributors, and foster a sense of camaraderie and teamwork that will serve you well next time there’s a challenge to overcome.
Whether you have a milestone of your own to celebrate, or you come up with a gamified team challenge, or whether you just pick a date for a team-building event, there’s tremendous value in bringing people together. A lot of hard work goes into building a successful business, so why not take a moment to celebrate how far you’ve come?
